Just a general question. When good guys give pathways or commands to do a certain thing, and I type it into the console just like it was printed, why does it never work? I mostly use Xandros, but also msxp and SuSE. It seems like something else has to be done first. Usually the shell response to these entries is something like "no such directory exists" or some such exasperating stuff. Is there a rule of thumb that I could keep in mind that would help figure out what do first and why? I know this isn't very plain, but it is a sincere and important question to me. --Dan
